Harry Lessman Cempa Jutsu Karate 1st Dan Shodan Assistant Instructor
Harry first started training in 1989 at the Hainault Wado Ryu Karate club under Sensei Michael Keany, it was a tough old school club with a lot of heavy contact and a "train hard fight easy" ethos, the club also promoted body conditioning and had extra weekly cardio training sessions.
Harry trained at the club for around 5yrs until the club unfortunately had to close for reason beyond its control, Harry remains to this day close friends with Michael Keany and also many of the original club members. Harry spent the next several years going from club to club and trained in Shotokan, Kempo Jutsu, Taekwondo and Chinese boxing and even a fight club were you just turned up and got in a makeshift ring, but he never really found what he was looking for. In the spring of 2001 Harry relocated to South Ockendon and shortly afterwards joined the Bannatynes Heath centre and in the following spring of 2002 decided to take a look at the in house Karate club and this is were he first met Allen Tottman.
Allen encouraged Harry to join in with the lesson that was about to start and as he had his Gi with him Harry took up Allen’s offer. After that first lesson Harry knew he had found what he was looking for and started training at all the clubs 5 lessons a week and never looked back. In November 2007 just after his 40th Birthday Harry was successful in achieving a 1st Dan (Shodan) in Cempa Jutsu Karate. Over the years Harry has trained with many very good people in various styles and this has given him a broad understanding of Martial arts, most recently he was able to train with Hanshi Nohara 8th Dan Ryukyukan Shorinryu Karate a traditional Okinawan style. To this day Harry continues to train under Shihan Allen Tottman 6th Dan in Cempa Jutsu Karate
